Things to Do on Cape Cod During the Holidays

Thinking about getting away during the holidays? Look no further than Cape Cod! There are countless things to do on the Cape during the holidays, making it the perfect destination to escape from the craziness of the season for a few days.

Our Top Picks:

November 21: Lighting of Pilgrim Monument (Provincetown)

Provincetown is one of our favorite towns on Cape Cod. With dozens of shops and restaurants dotting its streets, it’s a great place to visit during the holidays. And, the town lights Pilgrim Monument on the night before Thanksgiving. Admire the festive lights while enjoying refreshments offered by the museum.

November 23-December 30: Gardens Aglow at Heritage Museums & Gardens (Sandwich)

Head to Heritage Museums & Gardens in Sandwich every Friday-Sunday during the holiday season to check out their amazing holiday light displays. There’s plenty to see and do on the grounds, including grabbing an apple cider donut from a local food truck, listening to carolers, and checking out the holiday pop-up shop so you can find the perfect gift for your loved ones back home.

November 30-December 2: Brewster for the Holidays (Brewster)

Our little town hosts Brewster for the Holidays every year during the first weekend of December. Take the weekend to relax and enjoy live performances across Brewster, tour local galleries, and watch the lighting of the Higgins Farm Windmill in Drummer Boy Park – directly across from the inn!

December 1-2: LoveLocal Fest (Hyannis)

Shop local and support the Cape’s entrepreneurs by attending LoveLocal’s holiday market at Capetown Plaza in Hyannis. The two-day event brings more than 100 local vendors for the ultimate holiday shopping event. And, you can enjoy beer, wine, and food from across the Cape while you shop!

December 31: First Night Chatham (Chatham)

If you’re looking for a place to ring in the New Year, Chatham is a great option. The seaside town hosts First Night Chatham every year on New Year’s Eve. The day is filled with different concerts and performances all across town and culminates with a beautiful fireworks show over Oyster Pond at midnight.
