COVID-19 Information

What to expect during COVID-19.

COVID-19 and Your Health and Safety

Your health and safety is most important to us! We are implementing measures and updating our protocols to keep you safe during your stay at Brewster By The Sea Inn!   These are all based on recommendations from hospitality experts, and are in compliance with the CDC, Commonwealth of Massachusetts and our local health department.  While these new practices may feel a bit different than what you are accustomed to, we will do everything we can to keep a smile on your face and ensure you have an extremely enjoyable stay.

Starting August 1st…

Starting August 1st, Massachusetts will be enacting a new travel order. All visitors must follow this new travel order to help us keep the transmission levels as low as possible.

If you are not from the states of Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, New Jersey, New York or Hawaii, and you wish to come stay in Massachusetts, you will be required to submit an online Massachusetts Travel Form, and (a) either provide a negative coronavirus test that is less than 72 hours old, or (b) quarantine for 14 days. For more information about the Massachusetts Travel Order, please visit their website at

Thank you for your cooperation, and we look forward to hosting you at Brewster By The Sea Inn!

You may rest assured that we are continuing our high level of cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting at the Inn, and increasing the number of times we disinfect areas that may be frequently touched by others. We are strictly following the recommendations of the CDC, the State of Massachusetts, and our local health department.

Contact-less Check-Ins/Check-Outs

Check-In Time:  3:00 PM – 6:00 PM.

Your room will be available at 3:00 on the date of your arrival.  We will have a Welcome Packet with instructions on locating your room, and your room key, in an envelope with your name on it, just inside the front door.  We will be sending an email prior to your arrival with a link to a video, which will provide specific information about your room.

Check-Out Time:  10:30 AM

When you are ready to check out, please leave your room key in your room.  The balance of your bill will be charged on the day of your arrival, so if you would like us to use a different credit card than what was used for the deposit, please give us a call ahead of time.

We still plan on making delicious, hearty breakfasts for you.  However, rather than serving it to you, we will prepare a gourmet Breakfast Box.  Your Breakfast Box will include a delicious homemade baked item, a fresh whole fruit, and a home-cooked warm entree.  The evening before breakfast, you’ll be able to text us your entree choice from our menu, as well as what time you would like us to have it ready for you.  In the morning, you’ll pick up your breakfast and enjoy it at any one of our “socially distanced” tables arranged on our deck and throughout the grounds.

We are blocking rooms for at least 24 hours between stays.  Once the room is cleaned, sanitized and disinfected, we will seal it from any further entry.  When you arrive you will be the first person who has been in that room since it was disinfected.  For your protection, we will not enter your room during your stay, and will have garbage service available each day, and fresh linens provided upon request.

Extra non-essential items will be removed from the rooms — throw pillows and blankets, magazines, travel books, pads of paper and pens, etc.  If you need anything, of course, just ask, and we’ll bring it to you.

Enjoying the Pool and Grounds

We are creating more space between tables and lounge chairs, and providing additional areas and seating throughout the property.  Dining tables will be available in the afternoon and evening hours for you to enjoy take-out meals, if needed or desired.  All pool furniture will be cleaned between uses.  Pool Towels and Chaise Lounge Covers will be provided in your rooms.  After use, please discard them in the poolside bin, and we will provide a fresh one to you as needed.  Feel free to bring our pool towels to use at the beach as well.

Text Messaging

We’ll be here at the Inn and available to you, but if you prefer to not have any face-to-face interactions, you will be able to text us during your stay if you need anything.  508 896 3910

Personal Protection

Please note that Massachusetts requires the wearing of face masks in all public places.  Please be prepared to protect yourself and others while spending time in the Common Areas and hallways of the Inn during your stay.  We will have extra face masks available upon request.

Our Staff

Each day, we and our staff, will check temperatures.  We will wear masks and gloves, and maintain our distance (although we will always be here for you, for whatever you may need.)

Guest Pantry

Our guest pantry areas, where we typically had coffee makers and tea pots, will be temporarily removed.  Afternoon treats will be provided in individually wrapped packages.  We will no longer be able to serve our complimentary evening cordials.  (I”m very sorry to see these amenities fall to the wayside.)

In short, we are doing everything we can to ensure that, in addition to protecting you, we are making sure you are still making beautiful memories on the Cape and at Brewster By The Sea Inn, during this very strange Summer of 2020!
