The Cape Cod Museum Trail – A “Must” for Planning Your Trip to the Cape!

After these past three Nor’Easters, (and one more on the way!) we are hoping spring is just around the corner! Whether you’re starting to plan a mini-spring break in April or making plans for the Summer, we have an April event that highlights much of what the Cape has to offer – The 2018 Festival of Museums! This fun event is also a kick-off and recognition of our relatively new Cape Cod Museum Trail, which provides a thoughtful way to enjoy the nature, history, art and culture of Cape Cod!

For the second year in a row, the Festival of Museums will be held at Hyannis Youth & Community Center. Dozens of exhibitors will gather together Saturday, April 28th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM to enthrall, thrill, and even teach you something new! The festival is free to all and is being held to celebrate the many museums and galleries of Cape Cod. In addition to the exhibits, special events include:

  • The Art of Auctions: An Inside View of Buying and Selling — A seminar given by Eldred’s Auction Gallery. Taking place from 10:30-11:30 AM, this seminar is designed to give you an inside view of the auction market. If you happen to miss the lecture, the auctioneers can be visited later in the day where they will be appraising any single item you wish for just $5! (Our own little Antiques Road Show!)
  • Preserving Family History Through Recipes — A conversation with Cookbook author and PBS Cooking Show host, Maria Lawton! Maria will discuss the Azorean region, delectable food and recipes, and how food remains the connection with history and culture of an area.

If you won’t be here for the Festival in April, no worries, as the Cape Cod Museum Trail has a wonderful website you can visit with a map of many of our museums on the Cape. Featuring art, history, natural, botanical and cultural museums, it is a great planning tool for your upcoming visit!

Spring is a lovely time to visit the Cape and Brewster By The Sea Inn, as our beautiful bulbs and blossoms bring color and cheer to the winter landscape! What’s more, we’ve updated four of our rooms this winter, so you’ll have many fresh options for a place to call home as you explore the Cape! We look forward to welcoming you to our Inn!
