From the parade in Chatham to concerts by the Barnstable Town Band, there’s plenty to do on Cape Cod for the Fourth of July! If you’re staying at Brewster By The Sea Inn for the holiday weekend, we highly recommend celebrating America’s birthday by watching these fireworks on Cape Cod.
Key Takeaways:
- The best Independence Day fireworks on Cape Cod are in Hyannis, Provincetown, and Falmouth.
- Orleans hosts their fireworks on July 2 allowing for Cape Cod visitors to see fireworks on multiple nights.
- Many Cape Cod Fourth of July celebrations include a parade, live music, and food trucks.
Saturday, July 4th: Hyannis (25 minute drive)
Hyannis celebrates all day starting with the Hyannis Harbor Boat Parade; head to the waterfront at Ocean Street for the best views of the decorated boats. Then Main Street, Aselton Park, and the Village Green come to life with music and performers from 4-8 pm. Meander around Hyannis’ Main Street and take in all the village center has to offer – art galleries, restaurants, shops, and more – before heading to Aselton Park for the fireworks show at 9:00 p.m. If you head into town early enough, you might be lucky and grab a spot at one of the restaurants overlooking the water so you can enjoy the show over dinner and drinks!
Saturday, July 4th: Provincetown (52 minute drive)
Provincetown is a fishing and artists’ town located on the very tip of Cape Cod and the perfect place to celebrate any holiday, especially the Fourth of July. Commercial Street starts the day 11 am with the Provincetown Independence Day parade. In the evening, visitors from all over the world gather on MacMillan Pier for the fireworks, which kick off at 9 p.m. There are endless dining options and shops to check out in Provincetown, so we recommend heading up early and taking time to explore one of our favorite Cape Cod towns!
Saturday, July 4th: Falmouth (56 minute drive)
Falmouth’s fireworks display was voted one of the best in the nation by Travel + Leisure Magazine, so it won’t disappoint! Falmouth Heights Beach and Ballfield is the number one spot in town for viewing the fireworks which begin at 9 pm. Food trucks will be available at the ballfield so you can enjoy a picnic while you wait. All of the south-facing beaches in Falmouth offer great views. Those looking for accessible parking should head to Surf Beach or Bristol Beach. The town enacts road closures around 6 pm, so plan to get there early.
Thursday, July 2nd: Orleans (17 minute drive)
Rock Harbor is a bustling harbor on Cape Cod Bay in Orleans and offers one of the best sunsets on Cape Cod. Trees line the path of boats entering and exiting the harbor, making for a unique ocean view. Head to Rock Harbor on July 2nd at dusk for the best views of this fireworks show! Parking is available at Nauset Middle School, Main Street, and Old Colony Way and you should expect approximately a half-hour walk to the Harbor. If you don’t want to be up close, other viewing spots for the Rock Harbor fireworks include Boat Meadow Landing in Eastham or Crosby Beach or Linnell Landing Beach in Brewster.
Aren’t coming to the Cape for the fourth? We still have rooms left in mid-July and August!
