Recipe: Creme Brûlée French Toast

Creme Brûlée French Toast

Brewster By The Sea Inn Creme Brûlée French Toast
serves 8, in individual ramekins or a 9×13 pan

Ingredients:

  • Maple syrup (enough to cover bottom of pan 1/8” to 1/4”)
  • 12 whole croissants, cut into 2” chunks
  • 10 large eggs
  • 3 cups half & half
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • (Optional: Add a tsp. of cinnamon and 1/8 tsp. of nutmeg)

Directions: 

  • Lightly grease pan (we use butter, but you can also use cooking spray)
  • Spread syrup in bottom the pan and arrange bread cubes in a single layer. For ramekins, just place the bread cubes in the ramekins
  • In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, half & half, vanilla, and salt (and optional spices)
  • Pour mixture over bread cubes
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight (8-10 hours)
  • Bake at 350 for 40 minutes
  • Serve with fresh raspberries or strawberries, and/or with sweetened whipped cream
