Brewster By The Sea Inn Creme Brûlée French Toast
serves 8, in individual ramekins or a 9×13 pan
Ingredients:
- Maple syrup (enough to cover bottom of pan 1/8” to 1/4”)
- 12 whole croissants, cut into 2” chunks
- 10 large eggs
- 3 cups half & half
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- (Optional: Add a tsp. of cinnamon and 1/8 tsp. of nutmeg)
Directions:
- Lightly grease pan (we use butter, but you can also use cooking spray)
- Spread syrup in bottom the pan and arrange bread cubes in a single layer. For ramekins, just place the bread cubes in the ramekins
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, half & half, vanilla, and salt (and optional spices)
- Pour mixture over bread cubes
- Cover and refrigerate overnight (8-10 hours)
- Bake at 350 for 40 minutes
- Serve with fresh raspberries or strawberries, and/or with sweetened whipped cream
